14 days route

 

This is one of the most completes routes designed for all those who do not want to miss the most famous and emblematic of Morocco places. We visit the imperial cities, the coastal town of Essaouira, and the desert and go through the thousand Kasbahs route.

Day 1- MARRAKECH

Pick-up at Marrakech airport. Move to the hotel. Depending of the time, city visit and its famous DJeema el Fna square. Dinner and accommodation in Riad 


Day 2- MARRAKECH – ESSAOUIRA

Early in the morning, after breakfast, we leave address Essaouira. Visit of the city and streets of the medina, as well as its fishing port, dotted with delirious colors and attractive images. Here, can taste the famous fresh fish cooked at the moment... Depending on the time of the year that visit it, can practice all kinds of activities. Since stroll the fine sand of its beaches, water sports, horse and dromedaries tours; or relax in some of its Hammams. Dinner and accommodation


Day 3- ESSAOUIRA – EL JADIDA – CASABLANCA

In the morning, after breakfast, we go to Casablanca, stoping in El Oualidia, a coastal city, to lunch; a lovely and quiet place with a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, traditionally dedicated to fishing and the oyster. Arrival at Casablanca. Dinner and accommodation. 


Day 4- CASABLANCA – RABAT - MEKNÈS - FEZ

After breakfast, visit the Hassan II mosque and the city. Then we go to the capital, Rabat, to visit the most outstanding monuments: the Oudaïas Alcazaba, the Mohammed V mausoleum, and Hassan tower. From there continue the journey until arrive to Meknes, bordering the Mamora forest. To 27 Km from Meknes, we find the Roman ruins of the Volibilis city; and the Holy City of Moulay Idriss. We continue to Fez. Dinner and accommodation


Day 5- FEZ

Full day to enjoy the guided tour of the city of Fez, with a local Guide. Fez is an imperial city that has managed to preserve its traditions, its crafts, its offices, and its University; one of the oldest in the world. Not in vain, Fes was regarded as "the city of faith and knowledge"; becoming the capital of culture and one of the most important religious centers of the country. Visit the medina, called the Bali; one of the largest medieval sites in the world and declared world heritage by UNESCO, with its souks and streets, also visit the Royal Palace and its Jewish quarter. Dinner and accommodation.


Day 6-FES - IFRANE - IMILCHIL - TODRA GORGES

After breakfast, departure to the South, where we go through the university town of Ifrane. The amplitude of its avenues, its urban development, their perfect State of cleaning, gardens and green areas; and especially its architecture, more typical of an Alpine city, make that Ifrane feels out of place in Morocco. It earned the nickname of 'the Swiss Moroccan'. It is a good indicator to measure the Moroccans pride by Ifrane, is that this city has what is probably the Royal Palace preferred by Mohammed VI, for their holidays. Then we continue until arrive the town of Imilchil, known for its famous the bride and groom festival; a celebration in which tradition combined with souks, music and folk dances; and other cultural activities. We continue the journey until arrive the impressive Todra. Dinner and accommodation


Day 7 - TODRA GORGES - TAFRAOUTE SIDI ALI - FOUM MHARECH 

Today we pass through numerous valleys and ancient Berber villages, to go to one of the most used runways by the old rally Paris-Dakar, to arrive to destination and enjoy the first night of stars in the desert and silence. Dinner and accommodation.


Day 8 - FOUM MHARECH - TAOUZ - desert of MERZOUGA

In the morning, we leave address Merzouga, via several border towns of Morocco and Algeria. In the afternoon, we reach Erf Chebbi dunes where we replace the 4 x 4 vehicle for dromedaries; to go to Berber camp for a  night on haimas, and live experience firsthand of sleeping under a blanket of stars, accompanied by fire and the rhythm of the Berber drums. Dinner and accommodation


Day 9 - MERZOUGA - RISSANI - ERFOUD (fossil quarries)

After enjoy the Dromedary ride again and a good breakfast, we go to Rissani, the central city of the region, and the last major city before arrive the border with Algeria. It surrounded by vast oasis, where still practiced the traditional agriculture under the irrigation system called: 'foggaras'. Its inhabitants live in old traditional fortified villages, called: 'ksours'. There are also important religious places such as the Palace Moulay Ali Sherif, the first King of the current dynasty Alawite. Rissani, also features a traditional market (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday). There we can admire the local trade, especially of animals; buy a colorful turban, a particular Berber jewel, some typical ceramics, colorful carpets, or some craftsmanship of camel leather. Then visit the fossils quarries in Erfoud and return to the hotel on foot of dunes. Possibility of enjoy an unforgettable sunset views. Dinner and accommodation.


Day 10- MERZOUGA – KHAMLIA – MERZOUGA

After breakfast, visit of the nomads and Merzouga oases, and its lake full of flamingos. We stop at the village of KHAMLIA, whose inhabitants have the origins in Mali; where we enjoy a small traditional music and dance show. Back to the hotel at midday to rest. Farewell dinner in the desert to the rhythm of drums and accommodation. 


Day 11 - MERZOUGA - ALNIF - TAZARINE - NKOB - DRAA VALLEY - AGDEZ OUARZAZATE

Who wants can wake up early to welcome the day, and after breakfast we start the path to go toward Ouarzazate again; passing by the towns of Alnif, the oasis of Tazarine, Nkob and the Valley of Draa. It is a landscape full of contrasts, palm trees and colors. Dinner and accommodation in Ouarzazate.


Day 12- OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU

In the morning, we visit the Ouarzazate city, the Taourirt kasbah, and cinema studies. It well known to be the Moroccan Hollywood, where many movies were filmed. Then we go to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, that enjoys the status of world heritage site; declared by UNESCO and one of the best preserved - not to say the best - of all the Moroccan territory. It is a true architectural gem, made in adobe, surrounded by a bucolic and romantic atmosphere. It is worth to see the sunset from the top of the kasbah. Dinner and accommodation 


Day 13- AIT BEN HADDOU - THE THOUSAND KASBAHS ROUTE -TIZI N'TICKKA PORT - MARRAKECH

Start the return to Marrakech through the thousand Kasbahs route, a journey known to be one of the most interesting and spectacular of all Morocco; where we can see a series of forts built in adobe, with crenelated towers and brick crude decorations. Located in magnificent scenery where the desert and mountain merge; combining all the tones of ocher and red, and whose rivers create canyons that become fertile valleys or green oasis with palm trees. It is a landscape that touches for the force of contrast, brightness and silence. Then will cross the Atlas by the port of Tizi N'Tickka (2.260 m), until reach to Marrakech in the afternoon. Day 14- MARRAKECH

Depend of flight departure time can seize the day for last-minute purchases and finish to visit somewhere in Marrakech. Transfer to the airport at the scheduled time and end of services.
